Sight Word Coloring Pages: focus words I, am, me, up.

I’ve been working on teaching my 4 almost 5 year old sight words. I’ve been starting with the Pre-K list. The first week we focused on the words I, a, me, up. I write the words down on a dry erase board and have her read one at a time. As a more fun way to incorporate sight words I made 5 sight word coloring pages for her first week. My oldest is in 3rd grade so it can often be difficult to stay focused on my youngest in which sight word coloring pages are something we can all do together. My daughters chose a rainbow cloud, unicorn, flower, dog, and a bear for their coloring pages. Each coloring page has the sight words in bold font as a reminder for myself and the kids that they are best memorized rather than sounded out. If you’re looking for some fun sight word ideas you could give these sight word coloring pages a try.

Besides reading practice, and sight word learning the coloring pages are great for scissor practice. I keep them simple so my daughters can add their own touches on the coloring pages or cut them out.

My youngest cut the unicorn out and then added a surf board to the bottom.
